Pam Johnson-Bennett
Pam
Johnson-Bennett is a Certified Animal
Behavior Consultant and one of the most
well-known experts on feline behavior. She
is a clinical member of the
International
Association of Animal Behavior Consultants as
well as being the Founder and Chair of the
IAABC
Cat Division. She is the author of seven
award-winning books on cat behavior and
training.
Pam
is the resident cat behavior expert at
Yahoo where she writes the
THINK LIKE A CAT
(SM) column. She also serves on the
advisory board for
Tree House Animal Foundation and the
PR committee for
Winn Feline Foundation.Pam speaks
on behavior at veterinary conferences and
humane organizations and makes numerous
television appearances, including CNN, Fox
News Channel and National Geographic. She
can also be frequently heard as a guest on
syndicated radio programs around the
country. Pam toured nationally for several
years as the spokesperson for Friskies and
worked with the Friskies Cat Team - the cats
seen on TV and in movies. She was also the
spokesperson for the Friskies Shelter
Program that awarded grants to 10 shelters
across the country to create cat habitats.
Pam and country music star Leann Rimes
unveiled the prototype habitat to the media
at the Northshore Animal League America, in
New York. The cageless, custom-themed
habitat encourages cats to socialize, stay
active, and feel more at-home while waiting
to be adopted. In 2003, Pam, Trading Spaces
designer Frank Beilec, and Lou Manfredini
from the Today Show, designed and built the
Ultimate Cat Habitat that was unveiled to
national media.
Pam
was the behavior columnist for Cats magazine
and The Daily Cat. For five years she was the resident cat behavior expert
for iVillage. She
has authored articles for scholarly journals
and cat magazines, and is frequently quoted
in national magazines and newspapers. She
has been the subject of many profiles in
newspapers and national magazines.
As an author, Pam has received numerous
awards and critical acclaim for her work. In
Cat vs. Cat, she addresses the
unique challenges of maintaining a peaceful
multicat home. This first-of-its-kind manual
deals with the often frustrating
circumstances multicat owners face.
Cat vs. Cat provides owners with
