According to a recent article on WebVet, a research scientist at the University of Buffalo studied the blood pressure of 48 non-smoking New York stockbrokers who were on medication for hypertension. Some of the study participants were asked to adopt either a cat or a dog. Results showed the new pet owners had more stable blood pressure and heart rates.
Science is catching up with what pet parents have known all along — sharing our lives with animals is good for us!
